TRPDD is a private, non-profit organization in Mississippi that was formed in 1971 by local government entities and business leaders to promote overall economic development, foster responsible short and long term community planning, and to aid general civic, social and economic development. TRPDD’s “home counties” includes Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, and Union counties. However, many of our departments provide services beyond these eight counties.

To further aid local government, TRPDD provides county technical assistance in areas of budgets, account, purchasing and tax levies, as well as pre-audit procedures to reduce audit fees. TRPDD also offers assistance to area governments in community affairs and planning. It gives aid in such areas as: zoning, emergency management, mapping, parks and recreation, redistricting, and other types of plans related to local governmental needs.

Overall, the TRPDD has provided valuable service to the counties in its district, services that will be needed even more as the area grows and develops. The Three Rivers area has in recent years become the manufacturing employment center of the State of Mississippi and the upholstered furniture capital of the world.

TRPDD is creative, innovative, and proactive in serving our region’s needs and understands the important role that partnerships play in taking this region to the next level.
