About the Research and Development Division

The Research and Development Division supports Three Rivers Planning and Development District, Inc. in its mission to promote overall economic development; foster responsible short- and long-term community planning; and aid general civic, social, and economic development. The division provides targeted assistance aimed at promoting the economic, social, and general welfare of the region.

Research and Development Director Services and Support

A. Produces Three Rivers' Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and handles associated updates, revisions, and planning activities

B. Develops Three Rivers' Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan and handles associated updates, revisions, and planning activities

C. Generates other planning documents related to community and economic development for Three Rivers and handles associated updates, revisions, and planning activities

D. Secures and administers funds tied to the Research and Development Division

E. Identifies and helps facilitate the acquisition of non-traditional funding in cases where Three Rivers is the designated recipient

F. Conducts research and analysis to identify resources Three Rivers can utilize to enhance its services and support

G. Provides geographic information systems (GIS) services for Three Rivers

H. Serves as Three Rivers' primary point of contact for redistricting and demographic services

I. Assists in the development of presentations, proposals, marketing materials, graphics, visuals, and similar items for Three Rivers and its partners

J. Manages Three Rivers' website (design, content, updates, etc.)

K. Functions as Three Rivers' primary point of contact for planning initiatives in areas such as community development, economic development, transportation, etc.

L. Prepares reports, analyses, spreadsheets, forms, and other documents to assist Three Rivers in the provision of its services

M. Creates and maintains a regional database to assist Three Rivers' economic development partners in their business recruitment, expansion, and retention efforts

N. Offers community development assistance centered on the identification and promotion of regional assets and resources

O. Acts as Three Rivers' primary point of contact for the U.S. Census Bureau, State Data Center of Mississippi, and Center for Population Studies
